We’ve identified several topics which, based on past experience, we feel need to be discussed, especially with new hams and first time Field Day participants but everyone is welcome to attend. We also have some training scheduled for the set-up crew.
Operator Training - We will schedule and conduct 3-4 Operator training events prior to Field Day.

• This training is for those of you who will operate one of the 10 radio stations we’ll set up.
• This training will address and have hands-on application related to the topics below:
• Our Field Day Plan – The big picture
• Using the Field Day Logging software and what it tells us
• The Field Day exchange – What we share
• Making contacts – “Search and Pounce” versus calling CQ
• Propagation – What to expect in general terms and what about those missing sunspots?
• Radios – Using the “Big Knob” and “Don’t touch that button!”
Set-up Crew Training – We will schedule 2-3 Set-up training events prior to Field Day.

• While this training session is for the Set-up crew, everyone is welcome to attend and participate.
• This training will address and have hands-on application related to the topics below:
• Our Field Day plan – What goes where
• Setting up extendable antenna masts – Desktop demo and hands-on exercise
• Taking down extendable antenna masts – hands-on exercise
