On Saturday, 26 June 2009 we will complete the set-up phase

 

Set-up Phase - 26 June – 0900 – Set-up crew arrives at the clubhouse.

 

    • Off-load any set-up related equipment (e.g., coax, tables, fans, power          cords, radios, power supplies, etc.).

    • Following a review of the Field Day plan and our progress, the Set-up          crew will complete any unfinished tasks from Friday.

    • Safety continues to be a primary factor.

    • Apply sun screen

    • Drink plenty of fluids

    • Take breaks

    • Be aware

        Estimated time required for this task: One hour if necessary.

    • Saturday’s set-up tasks include:

 

        • Set up our visitor’s center shelter and designate VIP Parking;

        • Set up tables and chairs in each shelter;

        • Place two generators to support the operation (one for the Phone/              Digital stations and one for CW stations);

        • Place power cords from the generators to the shelters;

        • Place fans (2-3) and power strips (one per table) in each shelter;

        • Place lights in each shelter;

        • Place working aids at each station;

        • Deliver a visitor sign-in log and handouts at the visitor’s station;

        • Set up radio stations (radios, power supplies and laptops);

        • Lay out the cables for the LAN;

        • Place 2-3 large, heavy-duty trash bags at each shelter.

        • Place a First Aid kit at the one Phone shelter and the CW shelter                with a prominent sign.

        • Establish a fuel storage area for each generator with appropriate                warning sign.

        • Place a fire extinguisher near each generator with a prominent sign.

        • Establish a break area inside the clubhouse

        • Arrange tables and chairs in the clubhouse for meals.

        • Set up cots in the clubhouse for naps as required

        • Prepare coffee and hot water for tea and hot chocolate

        • Place signs at strategic locations on the local highways. Locations              TBD.

        Estimated time required for this task: 2-3 hours.

26 June – Noon – Upon completion of the set-up phase…

      • Conduct power, radio and LAN tests;

      • Fix any problems.

      • Have lunch.

      • Rest

Operating Phase

 

26 June – Field Day Operations

 

2:00pm – Begin operating ten radio stations and continue operating until 2:00pm on Sunday.

 

        4:00pm – Meal preparation (Dinner) begins

        6:00pm-7:00pm  - Dinner is served.  Participants eat in shifts?

        TBD – Re-fuel generators as required
